Dr. Katz, founder of Skatz Education, started his academic career with struggles, learning to teach himself and discovering what worked best for his learning style. This transformation during his undergraduate years led him to become a TA, tutoring students in various sciences. Before medical school, Simon spent a year solely focused on tutoring students and helping them gain admission to medical school. He continued tutoring throughout medical school, covering USMLEs, board exams, and the MCAT.
Dr. Katz’s experience taught him that effective tutoring goes beyond academics; it involves mentorship. Students sought his advice on everything from understanding complex concepts to crafting personal statements and preparing for interviews. This comprehensive guidance inspired the creation of Skatz Education.
