The USMLE is a standardized, multi-step exam designed to assess a physician’s ability to apply knowledge, concepts, and principles, and to demonstrate fundamental patient-centered skills.
USMLE Step 1
USMLE Step 1 is the first part of the licensing exam and focuses on the basic sciences fundamental to the practice of medicine. This exam assesses a candidate’s understanding and ability to apply important concepts of the sciences basic to the practice of medicine, with special emphasis on principles and mechanisms underlying health, disease, and modes of therapy. It is a one-day examination divided into seven 60-minute blocks, administered in an eight-hour testing session. USMLE Step 2 CK
Step 2 CK is a one-day examination that assesses the medical knowledge and understanding of clinical science necessary for the provision of patient care.
